Most tourists come to Alleppey for the houseboat experience. Alleppey has the most scenic, meaningful part of the backwaters in Kerala.
It is more meaningful in terms of the village life that you can
observe from the houseboat- how people work on the rice fields, and
how people who live in these villages (literally) live off the
backwaters. It is
also the most scenic in Kerala, with its vast lakes that narrow down
to smaller winding canals and lagoons. You can sail non-stop on a
houseboat in Alleppey for days or weeks on end without going through
the same route twice.

- with extra bed, under a fan & mosquito net.

No cutting corners at Johnson’s The Nest!
When The Nest Eco houseboat is booked, Johnson also has a few
friends' boats which
he
can use for his extra customers. These can be single, double, or
triple bedroom boats. When he arranges these boats for his guests,
they run entirely under his management and the staff are well
trained by him to render to his guests the same kind of service as on
his boat.

Running time
on The Nest Eco houseboat:
12.00 noon boarding time till 6.30 pm evening.
8.00 am to 10.00 am check out.
Lunch, tea/snacks, dinner and breakfast prepared and served onboard.
* Other than the half hour lunch break the boat only stops for
village walks, fishing/swimming.
* It is not unusual for customers to hire the boat for multiple
consecutive days/nights (2,3 or more) |

Eco-friendly
'The Nest' Eco houseboat has 90 HP inboard engine which is noise free. It also draws power from the inboard engine by
alternator/inverter method for onboard use. i.e. bulbs, fans, power points etc..
The bathroom is fitted with bio tanks and all waste is responsibly disposed off.
No plastic is ever used onboard. Hygienic drinking water is provided
free.
